I think these are used as a legal alternative in places where you're not allowed to have the real thing. I had an AK replica like this - semi auto .22 rimfire. I think gun laws in parts of Europe are such that you can own these .22 versions of the famous guns that you can't own. I looked up the AK replica I had before I sold it and it seemed mostly people in the UK had them.

You guys need to youtube search the Kriss Super V and watch the video. The ejection action absorbs almost 100% of the recoil. The video shows an animation of the action in action. (haha)
It's a pretty amazing design, totally out of the box, totally fresh.

Rate of fire: 1500 rounds per minute in full auto.

I'm going to buy one.
