The funny (sad) thing is is that the average joe investor will think he is rich when the dow is 18 000, not realizing that one unit of the dow at 18 000 in 2013 won't buy what one unit of the dow at 1000 bought in 1980.

I'd been looking for something that resembled a top since November when I lost my job.

Cashed out the 401K this week @ 11980. Felt pretty good.

Converted 3/4 of that to tangibles- that felt even better :)

Good move, good timing! I'm hoping for the market to hold up a little longer. I have an annuity that I can't have until march.
It's not looking good for me. :-\
