I am receiving a really good education about US foreign policy in the middle east.

What America's elites have done (I hesitate to use the term 'we' because 'we' are not a part of it), is to buy 'peace' in the middle east. We have installed compliant dictators--essentially our puppets--in an arc of countries from Algeria to Pakistan. This is comparable to the Raj in India, where the local elite shared the profits with the East India Company, and the British provided 'Administration and Security for the arrangement with the local elites. The interests of the people were a far distant way behind in importance. But our Raj is global, and all the 'dictators' are just local elites loyal to the global club of elites. Their job is among other things to insure that the people are productive slaves of their system.

We now need to change local dictators to suit our changing interests in the region. So, Hillary stirs people up by giving them hope the USA is behind them in her speech in Doha in mid-January. The people rise up with the help of the internet, and 'depose' the old puppet, while there are other groups, NGOs funded by Soros and others who push to install another puppet that will conform to the new agenda--basically a change agent to move them closer to globalization. It seems that Globalization will be a success when the whole world's elite love Israel, but the people of the world won't follow suit--despite aggressive hammering of propaganda and the passage of the 'you have to love israel laws'. Anyway, here is a piece that has a realistic view of middle east politics and much more eloquently addresses this view of what is going on in the world in general:

Owning the Palestinian Authority President is probably the most glaring example.
