In the last few days, I've been reading about the 'price of Brent' being xxx vs. 'the price of oil'.
Why the change? Or has it always been this way & I just hadn't noticed?

NEW YORK—Crude futures marched higher, rising in step with escalating violence in Egypt that traders fear could disrupt oil supply routes or spread to neighboring states.
Light, sweet crude for March delivery recently traded 36 cents, or 0.4%, higher at $91.22 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange traded 32 cents higher at $102.66 a barrel.
