Just saw this, though apparently it may have been part of the SOTU speech - which I ignorred -
"We can start right now by correcting a flaw in the legislation that has placed an unnecessary bookkeeping burden on small businesses," he said when referring to the health care law.
NFIB's Danner stated the provision was "a terrible burden on small firms and never should have been in the law to begin with."
The 1099 repeal was called a step in the right direction, but small businesses have been contentious over much of the requirements and costs as part of the heath care law in general."

Were there any riders on the repeal that altered any language of the bill?

It was a litmus test.
The time of this treacherous fruit has not yet ripened.
Give it another "season"

Very true and I'm sure it will come back worse than ever.

Maybe this law was pretty good ammunition for states to reject the health care package?

While it is super good news this hideous thing got repealed. I believe Obama is signing this repeal as part of his phony "triangulation" act.
If it "never should have been in the law to begin with", then why was it in there ?

it makes them look like they're doing something.
pass a law that raises minimal revenue and creates massive paperwork AND gives massive new powers to the IRS, bury that law in a humongous "health care" bill ... then after Dan Lungren et al make 8, maybe 10 attempts to repeal this business&freedom-killing law ... it's finally repealed (I HOPE).
the political equivalent of digging ditches & filling them back up again ?
Obama-care reminds me of the Patriot Act.

You don't suppose he signed the HCR bill without reading it, do you?
