A friend who I gave a loan to is offering up his 1875 Army Outlaw to pay off the balance. Does anyone have any experience with this pistol? I have to admit, it is cool and feels good in the hand.

From my experience Unberti makes reasonably good quality guns. If the actual value of the pistol (according to the Bluebook of guns) is close to what you're owed and you'd be happy with the caliber then I say go for it.

They are the rhodium standard of reproduction cowboy firearms.

To do better you need handmade custom pieces.

I would look up that particular caliber and see if it is near the price that he owes. if so I would swap in a second but I am a total sucker for cowboy arms that I can shoot without feeling like I am ruining a chunk of history.
