Why would one invest in even one fountain pen, let alone collect them? Especially someone who is awake enough about FRNs/gold,sheenies etc?

I used to use Pilot Varsity fountain pens in college for taking notes. I liked how I could write faster with it when note taking. The ink didn't dry very fast though so my hand usually left stained from the ink, but I did enjoy it. People asked a lot of questions, most had never seen a fountain pen before (2003-2007 were the college years).

I'd like to get a "real" one, but I never liked how if you tipped it wrong there was ink everywhere. I need a dummy proof design that I can toss on the desk and it not leak all over the place.

Maybe I should just use pencils....

Kahlil couldn't fix my pen, but he referred me to a place called "The Pen Hospital."

However, as I was gifted the pen I don't really have the resources to spend at least $20 to get it fixed (dude told me it's a 75 dollar instrument). It's a "Cross" model. Black, sleek. And I've never had problems with "if you tilt it the wrong way, the ink spills."

Kahlil gave me the number to Cross and told me how to make up a sob story about having only been using it for a day before dropping it and fouling the tip. He said they usually send individual customers a new one. Good look, Kahlil.
