I was just talking to my neighbor who's a cop yesterday and he said he cant wait to retire. Tired of lawyer going after cops when a known habitual pussy perp gets a good lawyer.

Once the criminal is under control, physical violence is not called for, no matter what the crime (alleged or actual) was.

I’ve defended cops in the past, so I feel that it is incumbent upon me to weigh in here.

The job of the police is to arrest (stop) criminal suspects, and bring them into custody.

Punishment is the job of the penal system, and only after suspects have been tried and convicted.

From what I’ve seen so far, I think every single one of those cops should be fired, and charged with assault and battery, at the very least.

It takes a certain degree of sickness and brutality to bash someone's head in when they are already down. Back when I was younger and stupider, I got in quite a few fights and I saw quite a few fights. In those days, things were different...we were all cowboys and fights outside of bars or even inside of bars seemed more like the norm than the exception. Still, I rarely if ever saw anyone hit a guy once he went down and covered up. I saw it all back then...guys starting fights for no reason, a guy finds out another guy is screwing his girlfriend, drunk guy starts fight with sober guy, etc. The point being that some of these people were MAD and a lot of them had a right to be. But still, when it came down to it they had enough compassion for another human being- even their enemy- to stop short of breaking their teeth and putting them in the hospital. Just food for thought.
