When I was in my late teens Honda Odysees (sort of like dunebuggies) were the rage. I lived in the prairies then and it was a cold night, probably 30 below. My friend and I hopped into the Odysees and were racing through town on the ice of a frozen creek. It was a blast as the creek meandered around and when we couldn't make a corner we just bounced of the snow covered creek banks (sometimes spinning out). We didn't know that the cops were chasing us as we were below street level. Anyways when we finished and pulled out on the road the cops pulled us over. They just wanted to know what we were up to and gave us a warning (for having no licenses or insurance and all that jazz) and told us to go straight home. He said it looked like fun though... ;D

As for sleds, I wouldn't bother pulling over. No way the cops could ever catch you. We have a new 800 fuel injected skidoo and last year's carb'ed 800 hill climb special (both 154 inch track), and they just fly at sea level... Lifts the skis right off the ground at full throttle.
