On dial up so will have to watch the movie later but ...

What if the government WASN'T lying about the economy and the job picture? What if they are entirely accurate with their figures but are not including those who they consider outside their system (and economy)? What if they might believe that if you have been unemployed for over 2 years that this indicates that you are not part of the political system? Because, after all, if you were politically connected you would have been given a job to do. Long term unemployed are not to be considered as either part of the system or part of the problem to be taken care of in the future.

I realize this is playing the devils advocate a bit but people like to believe they are plugged into a system where they will be taken care of. In my opinion this is a dangerous assumption.

I think you and I think alike.
Playing devils advocate is not all that easy with this group who think they are unplugged.

This reminds me of a friend who lost his license to do driving drunk over ten years ago and never really went back to get relicensed to drive.
Well a day came when he decided to reapply and low and behold he wasnt in the system any more. As far as the DOT was concerned he vanished in thin air and all record of him was purged from their DOT system.
Needless to say he never attempted to reapply after finding that out. He drives all over town and out of state to deer hunt in his home town in michagan. Cops know hes driving with out, but he also works on their squads.
And this guy is an excop from the 70 and 80's from Detroit.
Just my two cents!
After all the system is form driven.

The proble with the goobermikt not lying is that it changes the rules and laws as it sees fit inorder to appease as many people as possible. We can talk about the psychological and manipulative measures it takes but I am sure we recognize them. The fact is dealing with the collective is a lot like dealing with the devil.

1.9 million less jobs available than 10 years ago with 11.2 million more people looking for jobs than 10 years ago does not look like it could hold very long.
