This is real shit best defense is keep your mouth shut.

Next do not keep your shit at home.

Keep a dummy stash.

Have a gun near by the stash. One in and one near by.

Have multiple stashes.

Bury it, nothing like a sitting target like a digger.

Shoot to kill.

Once again, the common negligence regarding metals proves we are in "stage I" silver...

If you do that, be sure to keep that information to yourself because obviously these people knew what they were looking for,

This is the best part of the article.

Are the investigators that dense or was it added in to make it look weird to have silver?

Wow 25,000 ounces of silver.

I would have a couple of nasty dogs and a firearm locked and loaded on my hip with that kind of stash laying around.

They won't find it.
They will stop at the nearest donut/coffee house and question the cute little waitress for a few hours and then enter into the report No Suspects then return to the beat where they will write a few money generating tickets to make sure the dept looks good on the books and justify their need

$750k in silver bullion? For God's sakes, if you can afford that much bullion you can afford a secure method of storing it!

I wonder if the investigators were also puzzled as to what the thieves' motive was for stealing all those silver bars as well.

It's late (it's early) whatever....time for some brain calisthenics....

1 Canadian dollar at today's exchange rate = $0.98 American.
$750,000 Canadian = $765,306 American.
At today's spot price of $31.84 American, that is 24,035 ounces.

A standard 10oz APMEX bar measures 91mm long (3.58in) X 52mm wide (2.04in) X 7.4mm (0.29in) thick.
10 bars, end to end measures 35.8 inches (X Axis)
10 bars, side to side, measures 20.4 inches (Y Axis)
10 bars, top to bottom, measures 2.9 inches (Z Axis)
So a 1000 unit stacked block of 10oz bars is 35.8in long X 20.4in wide X 2.9in high.
The value of that block is $31,840 American.

$765,306 American divided by $31,840 American = 24 blocks.
When stacked, a 24 block configuration would be stacked as 3 long X 2 wide X 4 high.
X= 107.4 inches (8.95ft)
Y= 40.8 inches (3.4ft)
Z= 11.6 inches (0.96ft)

Total size of stash (for scale):
Slab almost 9ft long
3 ft. wide
A foot high.
It would weigh 1962.91 troy pounds - almost one troy ton of silver.
It would fill a standard 36" closet floor to ceiling.

Naturally he may have had rounds, good delivery bars, etc. to skew the math in terms of measuring overall dimensions - come to think of it, why did I just waste an hour of my life figuring all this out? Why am I asking you?

http://www.chilliwacktimes.com/silver+lining+theft+victim/4307707/story.html

The male occupant told the Province that two men, one of whom carried a gun, came to his door wearing fake police uniforms and said they were investigating a domestic assault. The men then said they were looking for methamphetamine in his vault.

They proceeded to punch the victim in the face and stab him with a kitchen knife before the occupant gave up the combination for the vault.

That vault contained hundreds of pounds of silver, representing the bulk of the man's life savings.

As for why the man had so much silver in his home, the victim told the Province that he bought it last January as an investment. Since then, the price of silver has nearly doubled.

"When I bought it in January a year ago some people said. 'You are crazy,'" he said. "It turns out that it really was one of the best investments I've ever made."

The man, a former professional, wouldn't say how much he had paid for the bullion, though $750,000 in silver bullion was worth about $415,500 this time last year.

A bank refused to store the silver, he said, because it was too big.

Well the 'good' news is just this week silver is over $30 again, so to sell a 100 oz bar at the dealer one needs to show ID this week (recent > $3,000 NWO terror transaction rules).

Good calculations apart from calculating the value of the 1000 units of 10 oz'ers as 1000 oz thus the space requirements are only one tenth of yours or 3x1x1 foot, which is still a big chunk. Interestingly right now the price of silver is aprox. a dollar a gram, thus a kilogram of silver is also a k $, thus $750 k of silver is 750 kilos of silver...
