1 - I'm catching up on laundry and house cleaning
2 - I'm a HUGE motorsports fan, but I rarely watch Nascar
3 - It's the first and biggest race of the year
4 - They've got a new surface on the track, it's very smooth, no bumps, which means TONS of drafting, and wrecks
5 - Machines that go fast are COOL. ;D

I'm always surprised at the number of NASCAR fans who don't know what N.A.S.C.A.R. stands fors:

Non
Athletic
Sport
Centered
Around
Rednecks

I watched some NASCAR today after church.

My dad is there at Daytona International Speedway, camping in the infield. I've camped there for the 500 too, a few years back, 2005 maybe. Those rednecks know how to party, let me tell you. It was quite an experience, and I am glad I did it, even if I never care to do it again.

I noticed during the broadcasting that they've got some neat technology that I have never seen before (because I don't watch NASCAR) - gauges on their steering wheels, and heat cameras for the tires.
