ROCHESTER, Minn. - A 3-year-old boy is OK after Rochester police and fire departments rescued him from an icy snowbank.
Sami Abdallah was out for a walk with his daycare group when he got stuck Monday morning.
Fire Captain Dave Fitzgerald tells the Post-Bulletin the boy had climbed a snowbank when he somehow fell on the icy snow, his leg crumpled beneath him and he couldn't get out.
The police department arrived first and began chiseling away at the ice. A fire department rescue team was called in to bring bigger equipment, including an air chisel.
The boy was freed after about 10 minutes.
