Magnitude 6.3 Earthquake Hits New Zealand

Published February 21, 2011

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- A 6.3-magnitude earthquake has rocked the southern New Zealand city of Christchurch.

There was no immediate confirmation of injuries or damage to the city from the quake.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the temblor was centered 3 miles from the city at a depth of 2.5 miles.

Christchurch has been hit by hundreds of aftershocks since a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck on Sept. 4 last year, causing extensive damage and a handful of injuries, but no deaths.

I don't remember any. But why would you laugh at someone's misery?

I don't remember any.

Plenty of threads at GIM1 that badmouthed the USA and described the wonderfulness and wisdom of immigrating to New Zealand.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nihilism

It is often associated with extreme pessimism and a radical skepticism that condemns existence. A true nihilist would believe in nothing, have no loyalties, and no purpose other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy.

Takes more than a picture, takes an attitude!

Remember those fish who thought it was safe to live in the Gulf of Mexico?
They are now dead!

Ha Ha!

I remember one who moved to New Zealand, but to a rural area, not Christ Church.

What about an impulse to laugh?

Laugh at what? The destruction of one of us for taking advice from sites like these? Schadenfreude for your 'tribe'?

If its not true (no recent GIMer type suffered loss) is it even worse offering your Schadenfreude to your fellow when it does not even exist (a conjuring 'evil' sort of thing)?

Laugh at all these people who run away to New Zealand (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/) while badmouthing their own neighbors and homeland. There were plenty of threads on GIM1 about this:

"California sucks and I am moving to New Zealand".

"America sucks and I am moving to New Zealand".

"GIMers suck and I am moving to New Zealand".

There were plenty of these kinds of threads at GIM1.

You hit a new low, Book, and I am actually surprised. Your life must be pretty bad that you find laughter in the fact that an earthquake struck where some former board members have moved. Sad.

I hope things get better for you. |--0--|

There is a reason why I posted this in the Gold Silver US Forum > The Homestead > Preparedness section.

Maybe someone will read it and realize that "running away to New Zealand" or any other place is not Preparedness.

:-* gee...aren't you the judgmental one

Book, are you and Antonio in bed together?

You both seem to enjoy stirring up emotions in folks. I am surprised at your ill will towards others, in this thread.

I'll call you out anytime for your nonsense.

In fact, I feel like picking a fight right now. I've had a very bad day today.

So bring in on, Book! I always knew you were a keyboard jockey coward.

don't get banned again.

I'll start a thread in Thunderdome.

I don't think laughing necessarily indicates ill will. I laugh in the face of disaster sometimes because I'm overwhelmed with a sense that I'm glad it is not me. May sound weird but for those that work in fields that meet a lot of tragedy they will understand. Those that have cushy jobs or things given to them so easily won't. Oh well.

When it gets really bad wtshtf laughing especially at ourselves can be life-saving. Some, even during so-called NORMAL times get all butthurt or get themselves banned. If they are that unstable now imagine how they will lose it wtshtf.

Well Book the radiation should hit your place tomorrow. And the next day, and the next, and the next...

Thousands may die in your state as a result of this. More than both recent New Zealand earthquakes I'd bet.

The radiation source could get much worse at any time, and currently authorities don't even have an idea of how to slow the leak.

Number one reason for moving to southern places like New Zealand is to get away from nuclear fallout.
