(CNN) -- A Libyan military aircraft crashed Wednesday southwest of Benghazi after the crew refused to follow orders to bomb the city, Libya's Quryna newspaper reported.

The pilot and co-pilot parachuted out of the craft, and the plane crashed in an uninhabited area, the paper said.

The Russian-made Sukhoi-22 aircraft crashed west of the city of Ijdabiya, 160 km (100 miles) southwest of Benghazi, Quryna reported, citing military sources.

When the protests began, Quryna reported regime propaganda. But it later switched, reporting on the protests and casualty figures.

CNN could not immediately confirm reports for many areas in Libya. The Libyan government maintains tight control on communications and has not responded to repeated requests from CNN for access to the country.

Also read that two planes defected to another country......their navy is also raising hell when there were told to use their cannons on a port city........they didn't do it.

Most individuals in a nations military know they are going to protect their country, not bomb the shit out of it and their own people.

Considering this and other likely military defections, I wonder how long it'll be until Qadhafi flees Libya or is captured and/or killed by someone within his own country.

It's incredible that he's reigned for nearly four decades with an iron grip until the prior 2011 Arabic protests influenced so much of the Libyan populace to rebel.

I wonder how much longer before all these middle eastern leaders are having a nice dinner together, high-fiving each other for the role they played in this stage show, in israel.
