May have come across a solution for those in Canada to enforce their ever eroding property rights. If you are from the US you may have something similar, in one of the radio show files I will post the researcher mentions that California has a similar system.

Basically a Crown land grant patent is the original contract between the land owner and the crown. It states that it applies to the heir and assigns or that land owner "forever." Being a contract with the crown and not legislation it should supersede any bylaws or regulation put in place since the land was sold, which is basically all land use legislation.

I did some research on these land patents a while back and came up with the audio files but recently have been unable to find a link to them and the original forum I found this information on seems to no longer exist. So I uploaded these radio files from my hard drive Enjoy! (sorry links didn't work the way I had them hopefully these work)

Sharing this information on a permaculture forum is what brought in the shill and the ensuing argument resulted in the thread being deleted. Last time I try to help the hippies out with their land use problems.

The interesting thing here though is that it applies to the assigns forever as well not just the heirs so anyone that has title to the land and can produce the original land patent which you can get from the ministry of natural resources here in Canada should be good to go.

Im was trying to find it, but near here (Southern Michigan) there was a case where a guy tried the "Crown Land Patent" from 17-something, to avoid taxes and whatever,The courts struck it down stating that it was the King of England who issued it, and since the US was no longer part of the British Empire,It no longer applied. I have heard of others being struck down as the issuing Monarchs no longer retain that authority,as their nations became defunct, sold the colony to the US or changed governments,(Spain,France)

I wonder what the effect would be in the US since I have a copy of a landgrant from the King of England for what became my families plantation in SC.

I would assume it to be null and void considering unlike the Canadians we kicked their oppressive asses the hell out. I can't see their rulings having any effect.

There are millions of original land titles at this website, all organized by state and county. You can even see images of the actual patents and buy copies if you want.

You have to send them a copy of 25 pie es of silver and a thumbprint on order for this to work.

Thanks for linking me to this thread, Son-of-Liberty.

Here is a link for Ontarians to apply for a crown land patent:

That page also contains a pile of amazing information.

I sold my house a few years back and am renting but my father owns some farm land. I have given him the forms and by now he has probably applied for the land patent. Once I get it I will let you know what it says. Maybe do a scan if I have time.

Definately, but if it takes a lengthy amount of time before you get to post it, please PM me and link me to this thread. I don't want to miss that post!
