Israeli Premier Netanyahu invited to address US Congress.
05.03.2011 01:24 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited to address both houses of the United States Congress in May, Israel Radio reported Friday.
The invitation was given to the premier by a group of visiting Congressmen who visited Israel recently, dpa reported.
The report carried no attribution and did not provide more details.
Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Washington in May, to address the conference of the America-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
News of the invitation comes as the Jerusalem Post daily reported that Netanyahu is set to unveil a new diplomatic initiative in May.
The premier has advanced no details of his plan, but according to the Post, his plan could include a reiteration of the two-state solution, and turning all major Palestinian cities over to the Palestinian Authority, giving it control over 90 per cent of the Palestinian population.
