Trial Begins for Idaho Lawyer Involved in Murder for Hire Plot.

Print Email Share Comments (9) Text Size COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- A trial is getting under way in Idaho for a former Aryan Nations attorney accused of hiring a man to kill his wife.
Edgar Steele is also charged with use of explosive materials to commit a federal felony, possession of a destructive device in relation to a crime of violence, and tampering with a victim.
Jury selection is set to begin Monday in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho's federal court. A pool of 70 prospective jurors will be called.
The 65-year-old Steele contends he is the victim of a government conspiracy because of his unpopular views and writings.
His wife, Cyndi Steele, believes her husband is innocent of the charges and has stood beside him.
