Not quite Great Tribulation, but I would certainly agree it could be signs of the birth pangs. When the Great Tribulation arrives, there will be no doubt about it's presence. The great tribulation is a time of sin and lawlessness. Are we not in that? I think there is such a flood of deception that people will not know of THE tribulation because they will be so self-seeking. The punch of the tribulation time will increase in intensity to wake up those who will accept reality. But those who choose to sleep in the matrix will not be denied their last request.

The signs of the end are all around us, yet the ability to "reason" them away with astronomical and scientific postulations will accompany these so that people can believe the lie. Having the ability to choose your master- the deceiver or the Truth, requires that there be an option. That option will have logical-sounding arguments for those who so choose.

We both agree it is a reality. However the specific event which is fortold has time and event guidelines as layed out in the apocalyptic books of Zechariah, Danial and Revelation. Like I mentioned above though, even though I don't think we are in "the" Great Tribulation, I think the birth pangs of the end times are obvious.

The difference however, is that the Tribulation is not only a time of sin and lawlessness, but more importantly, it is a time of judgement. From what I see, God's long-suffering patience remains. He continues to stand at the door and knock.

But I see no reason to be dogmatic about any of the details.The critical thing is knowing in whom one's hope rests, namely Jesus Christ. Erring on the details of the end times is not a show stopper. Erring on Christ, on the other hand, certainly is.

yes it is shortened to 5 months.
In Revelation you will read of silence in Heaven for a half hour. This half hour comes from the time of temptation (one hour) which God gives the inhabitance on earth three WOES. It is shortened 7 years to 3.5 years (count the months I beleive in Mathew) to one hour to finally to a half hour for the elects sake.
The three Woes are a warning that the fake christ (satan , the beast, the old dragon, lucifer, the devil) is coming to earth.
