Yesterday I finally picked up my 1996 911. It's been in the shop for about 4 months having the motor rebuilt, and literally everything that wasn't cosmetic that needed to be repaired, was repaired. The total cost for this was about 13K. Now, I've had a ton of mixed emotions over this expenditures because 13K is a lot of PM's, ammo and preps.

But you know what, with everything negative going on, this is just my little piece of heaven. So please folks, don't stop doing what makes you happy because the only thing TPTB can't take away from you is your soul and who you are. ;)

I agree with ya General. It seems like an ideal time to take a little sabbatical from it for just a awhile and thankfully it's March which means it's time for a different sort of madness, March Madness. This is a basketball junkies mega fix and I have every intention of doping myself up properly, filling out multiple brackets in a quest to be the top dog and maybe winning a few FRN's in the process. I'll be intently watching and enjoying the Kentucky Wildcats for the rest of the season, come what may, starting in exactly 30 mins and hopefully they'll be playing tomorrow in the SEC championship game, hopefully winning that one too. Then we have Selection Sunday tomorrow night, where the brackets are revealed and the road to the Final Four is laid out.

Let the games begin!....I'm stickin' my head in the proverbial sand for awhile. And while I'm at it I think I'll dose up on some extracurricular fun too. 8)

Amen General, it's important to have a little piece of heaven that just takes you away from it all. Mine is my boat, I love working on her. I don't know what I'd do if I ever finished all the projects. I just enjoy working on her. Currently it's a beautiful day here, I've installed a shiny new stainless sink in the head...getting ready to plumber her in. Boat porn. ;D

To life!!!

For me, it is very important to just live me life the way that I see fit in order for me to stay happy. My hobbies define me and it is those hobbies that generate the happiness in my life. There will ALWAYS be bad news and that will not change but like General said, you cannot just stop living life. You only live once, so you might as well make the most of it while you are alive. There is nothing wrong with preparing (a.k.a SHTF prepping) for whatever unknown situation that might occur but it is IMO just as important to be happy and to just live life.
