it's because they still have a homogeneous society whereby everyone still has the same values, social mores, folkways, religion, etc. they haven't been balkanized and taught to "hate white people," "hate democrats," "hate black people," "hate republicans," "hate baptists," "hate god," "hate atheists," etc. yet.

it's too bad that the Japanese reaction and behavior in the wake of this disaster (no pun intended) is now considered the exception to the rule. humanity is taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Nashville and surrounding areas were completely flooded and much was destroyed less than a year ago. No one rioted or looted. Therefore it didn't make the news. Japan is a nationwide disaster with lots of ongoing drama so it made the news. The fact that no one riots or loots gets to share the spotlight.

So what are they telling us . . . Basically...Japan was a test, and TPTB are pleased with the results? A sick conclusion, I hope it wrong.
Maybe they just used that phrase because it's a popular slogan. Right? Right?
