Probably concerned about general discussion becoming too large and slowing the site down.

Yes, soon there will be a 30km exclusion zone around general discussion... the topics are just too hot.

I predict that will calm those discussions down... Shouldn't this be moved to board communications, btw? Hmmm what can be discussed in General Discussions? Cookie recipes? No that probably is better in Preparedness...

I too understand why maybe the posts are moved... however I feel its wrong. If the OP wanted to post their topic elsewhere... they would have. General Disc. gets more traffic and hence more discussion. If General discussion is truly the place to "Feel free to talk about anything and everything in this board". Then why do the threads get moved? I dont really care too much one way or another... it just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Why have GD at all? I vote to leave the OP where they are posted. If the topic loses interest they will drop of the GD board anyway. Just my 20 cents adjusted for inflation. 8-)

I like to read from GD when I am using my phone. No need to log in. And for whatever reason I have to attempt to log in multiple times when using my phone.

Good.
Add some cement and it will be a true "containment forum".

I am sorry, this thread MUST be moved to the Admin area.

Moving threads from one forum to another is a well known moderator speech suppression tactic, so I don't support it.
No, I am not accusing or insinuating that this is happening here. I am saying that it could give the appearance of impropriety to observers.

Meh...

To me it just looks like a way to keep things tidy around here... everything in its place, ya know?

Maybe its OK to move them once they have stopped but while the threads are still active it just ruins GD basically.

it shows up in GD as a moved topic, so big deal...one more click and you're there...or are people too impatient or too lazy to take the extra couple of seconds...??

Once they stop they will disappear into the abyss like all the others. now clicking pages away to find redirects of current and pertinent threads sucks.

Besides Jackie did it and you know it!

Since you are all being so argumentive, we should move it to the Argument Area.
