well, anyway, 9 mm seems about right.

45 ACP is too big for me.

what make would you suggest ?

can you get a good one for $400 ?

45 ACP too big? Physical gun or recoil? 1911 with a steel frame and slide would most likely do just fine for you. Rock Island Armory is probably the best value 1911 going right now. The GI can be had for under $400 and the Tactical for around $420.
