i remember her. i was a clueless 20something at the time of the 84 pres. election. i voted for her - the alternative being Reagan, and me being clueless.

i don't really regret that, but i do regret not voting for Carter in 1980. i think he was one of our best presidents. he had the guts to ask Americans to consume less energy, and to speak out about Israel. of course, he came into office at a time when the US was still dealing with the transition from domestic oil (Texas peaked in 1970, i think, so the Arab oil embargo of 1973 really hurt) to foreign oil.

Reagan was the stronger hand - his tentacles in Iran were much stronger than Carter's.

Oh well, no problem. Mondale/Ferrarro was an absolute guaranteed loss, even before the electronic counting fix.
