I checked the movie "Repo Men" out at the library last Friday, and watched it last night. It turns out that even with the free "rental", I paid WAY too much!

Now, I'm used to Hollywood insulting my intelligence... in fact I've grown to pretty much expect it in recent years. It takes a gigantic pig turd of a movie any more to REALLY get to me in a negative way, and I'll tell you, my friends, "Repo Men" is that pig turd! It's almost as if Hollywood invested all of it's vast profits made over the last 10 years on a gigantic machine designed to lobotamize movie viewers, after anally raping them with a rusty boat anchor. Yes, it's that bad!

The movie begins with a "junk science" misinterpretation of the famous Schrodinger's Cat thought experiment, in order to make the movie seem "smart" and "edgy", then COMPLETELY fails to address ANYTHING even remotely related to that idea for the rest of the film.

Instead, we are "treated" to endless vapid blood/gore, murder, eroticized surgery, betrayal of friendships, street whore "chic" replacing family, and corporate schmoozy slime. As an added bonus, we get the awesome emotional experience of having everything we've suffered through the movie to achieve get ripped away at the end and be replaced by a matrix-like letdown of virtual blah.

I typically enjoy science fiction movies, and particularly dystopic futuristic stuff... but this movie made me wonder if the dystopic future is ALREADY HERE... a dark world of moviegoing IDIOCY and complete LACK of culture, redeeming values of any kind, or even (dare I ask...) a halfway coherent plot.

Avoid this one, folks... even free, it's too expensive! >:(

:D

Geez, can't Hollywood bother to come up with new, original titles?

Movies in general are so terrible now. I watch 10 and absolutely hate 8 of them, so I mostly no longer bother. I made it less than 10 minutes through the facebook movie, where a Harvard party was portrayed as a cross between a strip bar and an orgy. I'll take your advice on this stinker.

Can it be any worse than having to watch Natalie Portman in every current flick???

i listened to the Last Airbender last night. it was good.

good, now i will know not to buy Repo Man. i just got my TV & VHS back. i like to listen to old VHS movies when my Netflix DVD is in the mail.

partially because, some secondhand stores sell VHS movies for 99 cents.

it's amazing how many copies of "Top Gun" and "Happy Gilmore" there are.

if you ask me, there are very, very few new movies out there...most movies these days are remakes of, or sequels to, an older movie...

most of the story lines as well are nothing more than regurgitations of some other movie that made big bank.

the Barenaked Ladies said it best..."it's all been done before".

I get all my up to date movies and tv series from my laptop and many times I see them even before they come out at night on the regular tv (which I no longer watch)........the movies takes about one day but the real good one (to me) takes about three days........http://www.crackle.com/......http://www.slashcontrol.com/free-movies
..........http://quicksilverscreen.com/ ........http://www.hulu.com/movies.

Many times I look at them for two minutes and bye bye to another movie.

Yea yea yea I like movies.....so what.......that's what retirement and being ready is all about, to enjoy life the way that you want to ;D

I really liked it. I think the point of it was that one day society would be so in debt to the doctors to keep us alive that something like this might actually happen. Also it shows how blase' people are becoming about the pain and suffering of other people. If it's not happening to me then who cares. That is the attitude of a lot of people right now especially between the haves and have not's.

The screenplay & storyline were one of the worst I've ever seen.

If it was adopted from a book, someone should fire whoever adapted it.

"Natalie Portman" = נטלי הרשלג (Natalie Hershlag)

Better Natalie than Sarah Jessica Parker... both are jews, Portman was even born in Jerusalem, but if I were forced to look at one it would have to be Natalie.

I even thought she looked good with a shaved head, which is something I can't say for any other woman that comes to mind that I've seen bald-headed.

SJP is totally hideous.

Yesterday after reading the latest Vigilant Citizen post dissecting the new Britney Spears video, I was directed to the Whale.to site's Fritz Springmeier page. On it, it has "before and after" pictures of him, and links (http://www.whale.to/b/before_and_after.html)to other supposed celebrity "doubles." It's kind of trippy.

Here's the ones for SJP (http://www.whale.to/b/sarah_jessica_parker.html):

Before:

After:

http://www.whale.to/b/sarah_21.jpg

Some before and afters side-by-side:

And this is a strange one, where her mole has switched places from the right to the left side of her chin:

Some of these may be due to aging, severe Photoshopping and bad plastic surgery, but others, especially of Pope John Paul, are kind of puzzling. :conf:
