A Los Angeles reporter suffered a medical malfunction during a live broadcast following the Grammys Sunday night.

Serene Branson was outside the Staples Center for CBS 2 News in Los Angeles and was set to share the "highlights and backstage coverage" from the music awards show when things went wrong.

The journalist's speech slurred almost immediately and became incomprehensible, suggesting she suffered a possible mini-stroke.

"Well, a very, very heavy burtation tonight," she started to say, but her words quickly melted into indecipherable sounds.

She struggled to speak for nearly 10 seconds, clearly aware she was having problems, before the video cut away to pre-recorded Grammy coverage.

CBS 2 News in LA remained quiet regarding what happened to Branson, but eventually released a statement, which contradicted earlier reports she had been hospitalized:

"Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning."

CBS 2 later stated on their website she will be seeing a doctor for follow-up tests and "Serene thanks everyone for their concern and good wishes and hopes to be back on the air very soon."

The girls are scared and confused that something bad is happening to them. This guy just wishes the right text would appear on the screen.

I don't think so, he was a bit more functional than the women but he was suffering from the same thing they were suffering from. He accidentally referred to McCloud as McCain and the UN as university, he said "sifty-four", and "the hues of the garbens of today" is just plain gibberish.

What I find most interesting about this 'glitch' with the reporters, is without the words they still churp and emote there way to the break as if they were still speaking. It shows their mind at work ('reporting') is not so much the reporting, the talk is secondary to the acting like a reporter.
