Debra Oberlin, Former Gainesville, FL President of MADD Arrested for … DUI
You just can’t make this stuff up … IRONY ALERT!
Former president of MADD arrested for DUI: MyFoxORLANDO.com
The former president of the Ganinsville, FL chapter of MADD was arrested for, fire up the irony music … DUI! That is correct, 48 year old Debra Oberlin was arrested after police stated that her car she was driving was swerving. Police gave her two breathalyzer tests where she blew a .234 and .239. OUCH, the legal alcohol limit in Florida is .08.
Thankfully, this woman did not harm anyone and was pulled over and arrested before she could do any damage. It is kind of hard to believe that a former head of Mothers Against Drunk Driving chapter could be arrested for such a high breathalyzer test. One would think that she learned something when she was in MADD.

I love a good sighting of hypocrisy. Its either a good tell that someone is a deciever or liar, or a great cosmic joke.

Consider what Dad’s smoking suggests: Dad believes smoking is bad for him, yet he continues to smoke because, of course, he is addicted. So Dad’s behavior—his hypocrisy—actually supports his point that smoking is addictive. Gore’s behavior also bolsters one of his arguments for change in national energy policy: that certain ingrained aspects of the American lifestyle, such as our penchant for driving SUVs and distaste for riding city buses, lead to environmental irresponsibility—even Gore cannot escape it [private jet plane].
Of course, hypocrisy does not always support the hypocrite’s view. Spitzer’s visits to prostitutes do nothing to reinforce his official opposition on prostitution. And in some cases, hypocrisy has precisely the significance that the son and Jim assign to it: it is reason enough to dismiss a source because the person has lost his credibility. For example, when the preacher who presents himself as a moral authority gets caught having an adulterous affair, his followers may rightly call his teachings into question.

My thoughts precisely.

What the article didn't mention is that Oberlin, formerly aligned with MADD, had a falling out with membership due to life-tyle choices. After quitting MADD she joined DAMM, that is Drunks Against Mad Mothers.

What the video failed to espouse was the idea that you don't incarcerate people unless there are damages and victims.
Drinking and driving used to be a rather normal thing to do in this country.

it was legal in my state (wyo) untill a few years ago, when all the tourists abused it and made too much work for the cops.
