i ordered the creature from jekyll island from them for $31 or so. you got the book + a free peace dollar.
they just called me to "follow up," about the book and try to pitch me high priced numi gold.
i told the guy, "thanks, i understand all about the gold market, been buying since 1989. i just ordered the book from you so i could get a free peace dollar. there's no way i would ever order anything from you guys because you are scam artists."
i started to then proceed to the take me off your list spiel, and he hung up on me.
if you want a book + a peace dollar for $31, here you go: http://www.midasresources.com/store/store_item.php?i=creaturebook

Great story! I'm considering getting the latest edition as my copy is out of date, and with a peace dollar thrown in to the mix, I think I'm in!

it only took about 2 weeks to get it. i was expecting a cull, but the one they sent me was probably xf and uncleaned. i figure with silver prices where they are, you are paying about $4 for the book ;D

Why laugh at someone who is forgoing profits to spread the good book's truth and get people investing in real money?

Why laugh at someone who is forgoing profits to spread the good book's truth?
they're not worried about the truth, they're looking for people uneducated about precious metals + the monetary system to buy the book, get scared, and then buy horribly overpriced numismatics from them as a fear response.

Interesting, I hadn't looked at it that way but it seems like it may be the case. I already took this deal a couple years ago but am considering doing it again because I've tried to get people to read the book but I couldn't bear to give my copy away.

Thanks for the heads up Chad! I have not read the book yet, neither do I have a peace dollar! The book itself is over $24 new on Amazon.

it's a damn good book. gives the most detailed account i've ever seen of the Jekyll Island meeting.
they went to great lengths to keep it hidden, employing all the tools of modern spycraft (the non-electronic ones) to keep their railroad car full of bankers hidden.
the bankers all wore hunting outfits.
the hired help was treated like the hired help at Bohemian Grove - required to sign oaths of silence about what they saw, as they were serving drinks, carrying luggage, etc.

I bought this book a couple years ago from them, and go t a silver dollar, and they never harrassed me.
I was thankful for the coin. I thought it was generous, and a good "shoe-in" to get noobs to buy Sliver and Gold!

Got my book and Peace Dollar a few weeks ago.
Got the call today. Was bracing myself for the hard sell, but it ended up being the least pushy salesman ever.
"Hope you're enjoying the book. Just wanted to let you know that we sell coins. If you ever want any, give me a call."
"OK, I'll call if I need anything."
"Bye"

The same deal now costs $41. Still not bad, but $10 higher than a month ago.
