I've been reading through it and it's a pretty handy little guide.
It includes info on how to make a Kearny Fallout Meter ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kearny_Fallout_Meter ) from basic household materials.

Interesting. The Kearny meter doesn't tell you anything about what kind of dose rates you are being subjected to, but it will react to radiation, at least giving you a heads-up that you need shelter, etc.

..in case of nuke attack, bring silver and preps into the innermost room in the house...lock doors/windows
...sit down and place your head between your legs.....
AND KISS YOUR @SS GOODBYE!

Why would anyone on GSUS fear radioactive fallout? We all have stored years worth of food and water into our bunkers which are lined with silver bars and cases of ammo to block the radiation. ;)

lol
I mainly posted this because I thought the Kearny Fallout Meter was a pretty damn cool MacGyver-like homemade device.
The rest of the guide is worthwhile too though.

hey sirgonzo, i think that's a great link, but when TSHTF the internet is going to be one of the first things to be shut down. i would highly recommend going to the GSUS library and downloading the pdf's to your hard drive (Dogman uploaded that particular one to the library in december), that way if the net goes down, for whatever reason, you will have a copy on your comp to use at your leisure...
i now have almost 3gigs of pdf's on survival, etc., thanks to the library as well as the website www.4shared.com and others...
i have them all on my laptop, and copies on my external drive. will be putting copies on a memory stick, as well as burnt copies on disk. the only thing i'll be missing is a laminated hardcopy of all the files, but the printing costs would be outrageous...
i realize i may be a little over-redundant with so many copies, but 3 gigs if F/A for space, and it's all at your fingertips...
