Fox News gives Beck's show the boot

SAGGING ratings, a string of damaging remarks and an exodus of advertisers have combined to end Glenn Beck's controversial tenure on US cable network Fox News.

The news follows weeks of speculation about Beck's future, as a campaign to pressure advertisers to boycott the pundit's daily 5pm slot gathered pace, while Beck himself was embroiled in battles erupting from his conspiracy theories involving the likes of George Soros and Barack Obama.

An elliptical statement by Beck's production company and Fox News said: ''Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.''

But the statement also put a face-saving spin on the decision, quoting Fox News's chief executive Roger Ailes: ''Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody's standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him.''

Beck's show has been broadcast each weekday on Fox News since December 2009.

The announcement was greeted with joy among Beck's phalanx of critics on the left.

The show's peak of popularity coincided with the rise of the Tea Party, and his trademark blend of paranoia and conspiracy attracted a wide following, culminating in a ''Restoring Honour'' rally on Washington last August that attracted about 100,000 people.

Among his eyebrow-raising claims was that Mr Obama was ''a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture … This guy is, I believe, a racist.''

Thats very interesting, I think he hit a nerve with Soros,
Soros got rid of him, there was news links on this recently
how Soros is going to " attack " FOX, lol .

Looks like Beck isn't totally controlled, he thought he was
doing the right thing, learning and waking up slowly.

He hit the right nails in the end, you ain't allowed to name them, lol .

SAGGING ratings,

They neglect to tell you 1/2 his followers had to drop their cable subscriptions to put food on the table.

FOX news was dropped all together by Costa Rica, for a price hike.

That's the first thing I thought of too. I watched his interview with Ed Griffin, and although I gathered that Beck didn't understand enough of it to be a threat to the establishment by himself, by having Ed on I'm sure they began the "wake up" process for thousands of Americans. I've never been a big fan of Beck, but every now and then he did hit the nail on the head. Maybe it's for those reasons he was booted.
