ok I guess this is so, I am not going to upload any pictures ever, EVER to a third party out of my control or would have public access and could have excess to my information, EVER, this would be stupid, but this is what we must do here it seems unless I agreed to it to begin with.
I will however upload directly to the site, this is what I prefer and what I feel like is reasonable.
Sorry for the rant but this does inflame me quite a bit.

Set up a photobucket account and link to the site.
But once you put it out on the net, right click, save as, and it will be out of your control.

You can upload a picture to this forum directly from your HD as long as the picture file it is not bigger than 300KB. If it is bigger than 300KB, then it will not work and it will just tell you that it is too big.
I use Photobucket and I am satified with it. I use Photobucket because most of the silver art bar pictures that I take are larger than 300KB. I can "shrink" the picture to get it under 300KB but it will not look as good and it will be much smaller than I would like. Photobucket lets me upload the picture "as is" and I can keep the detail of a particular silver art bar picture without having to shrink it.
Photobucket was down for quite some time but it appears to be back up.
I am not really concerned about it being on the net. The mere fact that we are posting on a public internet forum such as GSUS is no different IMO than uploading pictures on a site like Photobucket. When you are posting on a public internet forum such as GSUS, your words and opinion on a certain subject are "out there" on the internet. When you are uploading a picture to a site such as photobucket, then your pictures are "out there" on the internet.
There is no such thing as privacy on the internet regardless of what you do on the internet.
EDIT: If you are using Photoshop, then you can adjust your privacy settings.
