Dog Chapman Posts Bond for Nic Cage

Nic Cage has friends in high places ... TMZ has learned it was Duane "Dog" Chapman who posted the bond for Cage today.

s TMZ first reported, Cage was arrested this morning in New Orleans on charges of domestic violence and disturbing the peace after an alleged argument with his wife Alice.

Sources tell TMZ they were the ones who helped get Nic out of jail -- he was being held on $11,000 bond.

Beth alluded to the bail out, posting on her Twitter, "My guy just walked out of the jail damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that's a lot of time to Process one guy."

Action Comics No. 1 — a 1938 comic book now worth as much as $1.5 million — was taken from Cage's West Los Angeles home in 2000 and was discovered last month in a San Fernando Valley storage locker.

Police said Cage and his wife Alice were standing in front of a property where Cage believed they were renting an apartment, while his wife said the apartment was at another address. He reportedly grabbed her arm to pull her to what he believed was the correct property.

According to the police report, the actor was seen arguing with his wife on a street in the French Quarter, before grabbing her by the upper arm, and then hitting nearby cars.

Police say Cage was drunk and yelling at officers while they arrested him.

When police told Cage to just go home, he taunted them again with the same words and was then charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace.

According to reports, Cage’s wife is not a complaining witness and will not press charges and she says the cabbie’s claim of physical contact is false.

I hate Nick Cage, I mean I really hate him. You know how there is that one person you just hate and you really don't have a good reason for it, and you never have or will meet them? I hate Nick Cage. He blew all of his money too, he commissioned a 9 ft tall pyramid to be built as his mausoleum. I think I hate him because you could have taken him out of every role that he ever played and substituted him with nearly anyone else and the movie would have been better. He is also obviously an immense douchebag in real life. Oh look, I do have a reason.
