EmailPrintHOUSTON -- Three children were injured when a gun brought to a northeast Houston elementary school by a 6-year-old discharged.


Houston police said the child took the loaded gun to Ross Elementary, 2819 Bay St., on Tuesday.

Investigators said the kindergarten students were in the cafeteria when the gun fell out of his backpack and discharged about 10:20 a.m.

Houston Independent School District officials said three kindergarten students were injured by the bullet and bullet fragments. Officials said a 6-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl were wounded in the foot and a 6-year-old boy was wounded in the leg. None of the injuries was life-threatening.

The student who took the gun to school was among those injured, HISD officials said.

Investigators are working to determine where the child got the gun.

Obviously he got the gun through one of those "gun show loopholes",

Anyone interested in a night time, top down, Sunday drive around Jensen Dr. and Cavalcade St? Yeah never mind. Bad idea.

I wouldn't go to school without a gun either if I lived in that part of town.

"Investigators are working (spending tax dollars) to determine where the child got the gun" ummm how about just ask the child that had it in his back pack???
I am glad no little kids got hurt badly.
Be interesting to hear the whole story.
