"If you have nothing to hide, then hand over your cell phone for a quick look-see."

A US Department of Justice test of the CelleBrite UFED used by Michigan police found the device could grab all of the photos and video off of an iPhone within one-and-a-half minutes. The device works with 3000 different phone models and can even defeat password protections.

"Complete extraction of existing, hidden, and deleted phone data, including call history, text messages, contacts, images, and geotags," a CelleBrite brochure explains regarding the device's capabilities. "The Physical Analyzer allows visualization of both existing and deleted locations on Google Earth. In addition, location information from GPS devices and image geotags can be mapped on Google Maps."

I never take my laptop out of the house and don't have a cell phone.......they would have to use a flashlight with me.

This is precisely what we get for a society when the well-endoctrinated apply peer pressure to their neighbors by promoting the meme 'do not question authority (you can't fight City Hall you know), shut up and do as your told' and advocating 'hire a lawyer' when they have issues with the state.

"Just shut up and do as you're told and we'll be *gentle* when we shove this flashlight up your ass."

Very nice touch how they put police, military, and 'anti-terrorist'* investigator on equal footing.

*WTF is an 'anti-terrorist' investigator?? Someone who works for the SPLC??

The new ass lights will have a calming agent applied to them, so when you are arrested & hog tied with the device sticking part way out your ass you will not struggle as they haul you away.

The promo video sounded like it came from the Robo Cop movies. Eerie in its simplicity.

I was thinking that Interpol would be the Anti-terror investigators.

You're right, I'm thinking it could be inserted seamlessly into a Robocop movie.

They can already get all this information from your cellular carrier.

But if you hand them your cell phone, then you are legally VOLUNTEERING the information to them.

Volunteered information can be used against you without raising akward questions about how they obtained it.

They already have every trick in the book to obtain the info. They just want us to capitulate. That will make things easier down the road.

See where the ACLU wanted some information and the cops offered to sell it to them for $544,000?

The cops are telling you how to handle a roadside stop by way of remedy.

Make 'em an offer of $1,000,000 and to cover all damages associated and let 'em have at it. Send 'em a bill for services rendered.

Interesting.

This makes the argument for 3rd party software encryption on all portable media - granted the Feds have the "keys" to unlock any commercial encryption - though local police probably would not.
