Thanks, but actually I now think of you guys as my Support Group. I am so glad I got all those things off my chest. It's stuff I've held in for years, and now I feel so much better! It's been cathartic, to talk about things I can't tell most people I know even in real life. We really do have something quite special here at GSUS. It's that sense of liberty that comes from being uncensored. Thanks again. :-*

And the people in the chimp-out videos do not represent "most" black people.

You're right, it doesn't represent "most" black people, only in the case where they're a minority. When they are a majority and you are the minority, it's only a matter of time before it happens.

I think you said in a previous post that you were a recovering liberal. I think you're still a liberal. A leopard can't change it's spots and a liberal will always think that all people are equal.

I stopped a fight from happening this morning, at a gas station, between a white guy and a black guy.

When I first pulled into the gas station to fill up, I was looking for a squeegy to clean my windows. A black guy was hanging out at one of the pumps, and asked me if I was looking for one, I said yes, and he reaches above the pump where he had one hiding. He pointed and said, "there's the water over there." So, I clean my windows and returned the squeegy to the water container. The black guy grabs it and says no, that's my personal one. I thanked him and chatted for a moment, gave him a dollar and wished him good luck. Friendly guy.

So, I finish pumping, and pull forward to add air to one of my tires. As I'm adding air, the black guy starts asking how low it was. I told him low, it's got a slow leak. He starts checking the tire, looking for where it might be leaking helping me out. He was well spoken, and told me he's in school to become a mechanic and was unemployed, he picks up work fixing people's cars, odd jobs here and there.

As I'm adding air, a car pulls up next to us. The guy gets out, and starts adding water to his radiator. The black guy says, "Good morning, how are you today?"

White guy quote, verbatim..."Get the fuck away from me." Black guy, "What? I ask you good morning and you tell me to fuck off." Downhill everything went.

The white guy threatened the black guy first, as I was listening and filling up my tire. The black guy responded by taking off his backpack, putting up his fists, and saying "you disrespect me and tell me you are going to kick my ass...if anyone's ass is going to be kicked, it's yours. Let's do it!"

It's interesting to witness a situation just go south like that...so, I finish filling up my tire. I step between the two guys and just say it's not worth it. They both immediately backed off, the white guy said, "agreed, it's not worth it". The black guy was still posturing with "disrespect" comments, but backing away from it all. But, I separated them that easily. I was surprised at how easily. It was obvious neither one wanted to fight. All it took was a third person to step in the middle.

I don't care what color your skin is, your social background...disrespect is disrespect. It's a universal language, bottom line.

So what was the black dude doing hanging around the gas station?

You said you gave him a dollar... perhaps the white fellow did not want to be accosted by someone who was likely feigning friendliness in order to obtain CASH.

Obvious? Just because he's black, you "assume" he needs a hand out? That's racist!

But seriously, your story makes me wonder, how do you get your car and your boat from port to port? Does your car fit on your boat? Do you tow the boat behind the car?

It's a hassle, you need to have someone drive you to go pick up the car when moving ports. I need a car to get to work. If/when I go sailing "cruising", I'd leave the car behind because it would be too much of a headache. I can fit a folding bike onboard, and an inflatable dinghy, and a surfboard just fine however. ;D

Actually you are right about this point. I assumed he needed money, I could have insulted him offering him a dollar. I also "assumed" he hide the station's squeegy, when I left it in the water bucket instead of returning it to him. He insisted it was his however, I'll never know.

I've had folks assume I'm homeless, based upon how I dress for work, so I understand that.

i grew up not knowing any black people and was very, very racist.

i moved to texas in my early 20s, worked there for years. knew a lot of black people. made many good friends, work associates, etc. i lost my racism. totally gone.

i moved back north about 10 years ago. all white people. i don't know any black people currently, nor have i for almost 10 years. i see + sense my racism returning.

Around here, I get asked for money from beggars on a daily basis, every day it seems.

His point is that if you don't post something that agrees with the collective mentality on this forum, the beat down brigade gets called in force.

I'll go against that mentality.

I judge each man as an individual, regardless of their color of skin or outward appearance.

Folks who judge based upon appearances, are at a disadvantage if what's coming in the future...is what's coming, so we think.

1) You miss the opportunity to get to know some good folks.

2) You focus on appearance, not actions. Actions matter, intent matters...when you are blinded by appearances you will be at a disadvantage, always. Always at a disadvantage. You may learn this lesson the hard way. Actions matter, nothing else. Focus on actions with an open mind.

This is what I see.

I couldn't understand the guy's response, nor believe what I was hearing. It was one of those "Am I actually hearing this?" moments.

Someone says, good morning to you, and it's OK to tell him to fuck off? We've lost a lot in society, in general, for that to be acceptable.

I do see your point about approaching a woman at dark. Any man of honor would not do that, I can't offer whether or not that "honest" hustler would do that, but I hope he would not.

If drug dealing was against the law, that's the law I enforced when I was sworn. Would you have wanted me to interpret the law, as I see it?

If so, would you want all police to do that? Folks tend to have different opinions on this matter.

What you are asking, is for police to be their own personal judge as they see fit? Am I correct?

What if gay sex in public was mandated "by law", would you enforce that? Rouse people from their homes to force them to fornicate in the streets? Where does it stop? How long will "I was just following orders" be a defense?

Who said I wanted police (standing armies) in the first place?

The "Police Department" is a relatively new institution, before which people survived and flourished freely, and without gov't/police intervention.

If *I* were joining the police department, if there were laws that disagreed with my own conscience, I could not honorably enforce them. I would either not enforce laws that disagree with Natural Law/my own conscience, or I would more likely not accept the position in the first place.

I am NOT asking for police. Everyone should be their OWN police... that is to say, people should have personal responsibility and should take care of THEMSELVES.

America survived for a long time with real money and no police, and would still be alive today if she weren't beaten into submission during the War Between the States.

Well we really don't know what history the black hustler at the pump and the white man in the car have, maybe it wasn't first encounter?

A standard reply to all black beggers, as its impossible to tell the difference.

As he pulled in, he had seen that the hustler already had a fish on the line, and was infuriated because he was busted fishing on public land without a license the week prior.

I'm not saying you're BS'ing [honestly] but it sounds like a story from the social engineers in Hollywood.

Not all blacks are bad, I'll never say that; but my experience is that when one is being friendly to me out of the blue -- there's an ulterior motive.

Solid, it is obvious that your experience with this guy was a positive one (Until the second guy acted like a douchebag and caused tension).

I can respect that he was courteous, polite and well mannered, and I can respect that he might have been down on his luck and out of work. Nothing bad about that.

I just can't help but wonder how that same guy might have treated you if he was out with 10 of his friends, and they were all down on their luck and out of work, and it was night time, and they were in their own neighborhood.

That being said, color doesn't dictate conduct, and there have been plenty of swarmings and muggings performed by groups of whites as well. To me, it is all about environment. What is going on at the time, who people are with at the time, what is the mob mentality at the time, etc.
The biggest noteable difference is that there seems to be a rash of these "Freakouts" and assaults at fast food places, where people are getting hurt and mobs are rioting, etc, and I'm sorry to say that it seems that most of it is being carried out by inner-city black youths.

I'm not saying that any other color of people are not capable of acting the same way, but I haven't seen a lot of evidence pointing to groups of whites particiating in "chimpouts" if you know what I mean.

Even with all that said, no one can deny that TPTB are nurturing hate towards "whitey", and blacks are the group that are being nurtured with that sentiment the most.

I agree. No ulterior motive came to about in that short time, however.

What I find interesting, is the response to that post I made...the worst was assumed about the black guy, while the white guy was defended.

A bunch of BS, if I ever saw it. The white guy was an asshole, and if he treated me that way...I would have reacted the same way as the black guy.

I should have never posted that experience this morning, on this forum. Should have known better.

I don't know that guy enough, but if he was out with 10 friends all down on their luck...I would have been in a tight spot. Same goes, for any 10 folks of any race, imo.

I agree with you though, white folks...particularly white men, we are the punching bags of society. We take punches, but can't deliver them back because of all the shaming, double standards, etc...set against us. That is frustrating.

The only solution, as I see, is to see past that and not lower ourselves to their level. By seeing folks as individuals, we crush that...they don't have anything, on us.

It might not be ultra-polite to tell someone to "fuck off" after they've just tried to exchange pleasantries with you, but if I has just said "good day" to someone and they told me to "fuck off", I wouldn't speak another word to them. I wouldn't get all in their face for them "disrespecting" me; after all, I was the one who initiated the encounter.

Solid, if the black guy saw fit to punch the white guy for his disrespect, would you have supported/agreed with him (the black guy)?

The black dude was as least as much as an asshole as the white guy. If you are nice enough to say "good morning" or something to someone, then you are nice enough to not get all defensive if they don't take too well to your talking to them.
