Mt. Carmel 4/19/11: "Inside the chapel you could hear the cries of the children"

A friend rode up to Mt. Carmel with Mike Hanson and 14 other people to attend the memorial at the chapel at Mt. Carmel this past Tuesday. (in case you were not aware, Mike Hanson led the volunteer effort to build a church on the footprint of the original chapel [the one that burned with the rest of the compound on 4/19/92] at Mt. Carmel)

My friend told me that the wind was blowing really hard and from inside the chapel the wind was howling around the chapel in such a manner it sounded just like the cries of children. Many people there made this same observation. My friend said it was eerie.

No doubt it was eerie. What a shame. That was a terrible shame. They sniped children and women as they tried to flee the burning Chapel.
