Is there that much more volatility cause it seems like it, or is it just that at close to $50 a dollar move isn't what it used to be?

Franks? only doing it that way for one reason, when ever I look at it it will tell me that I should only listen to myself and to no one else......even I don't know how it works but everything that I have done was done the right way........not counting the little "luck" that I have been having as of late.

Silver Backwardation Doubles Overnight

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 04/28/2011 10:40 -0400

Backwardation Convexity Negative Convexity

Yesterday we correctly predicted that the entire 10% silver correction would be momentarily taken out as the Comex news is properly digested. And so it continues - as silver is once again pennies away from $50 and a fresh new nominal all time high, we take a quick look at the futures curve where as expected the backwardation is confirming the "negative convexity" (yes, yes, we know silver is not a duration security) once the $50 stops are taken out will send silver surging to unseen before levels (which also considering it will be at a new record over $50 is pretty much intuitive). In the meantime, the chart below is the worst nightmare of anyone still holding short silver positions. While the near-far contract backwardation was about $0.75 yesterday, it has since doubled in less than 24 hours. We can't wait to see what surprising nuggets the Comex will bring us today.

I am still here. I'm alive and well and my gut feeling still tells me that silver will NOT hit $50 this year. ;D Hmmmm........What do we have here? Once again, Silver has failed to hit $50. No big surprise here. Down it goes from here. ;D ;D ;D

I think gold at 1535 is more significant. I like the dog, but gold is where the big money plays.

Nope. I have to respectfully disagree with you on this. ;D We will NOT hit $50 today. IMO the smackdown will be severe starting today. Once NY trading grabs a hold of it, then silver will feel the blows from JPMorgan as it smacks it down hard. I think that it is very possible that the smackdown could really begin today and last through next week. If that is the case, then I see the silver price being below $40 sometime next week. This is just a WAG on my part.

I sense that next month will be the case of "Sell in May and go away and never see $50 in 2011". :D

It ain't over yet. I do not hear the silver fat lady singing yet. :D I still think that silver will NOT hit $50 today. It will get smacked down by JPMorgan once it gets close to the high $49's.

silver's now taking its third poke >$49 since the Sun/Mon asian trading. It's formed a 5-day cup/handle since then. Meanwhile gold's resumed making new highs, pierced $1540 mins ago. USD's cutting new lows again, 72.85 low on the index.

COMEX is opening now. If silver doesn't bust through $50 today, and if we merely hold tight today above $48, then I vote it will be Sun PM (asian open).

Harvey Organ's saying some shite about Au/Ag call options exercised, http://harveyorgan.blogspot.com/

~10 mins into COMEX, silver's holding up fine so far

I said it somewhere before, but I don't give any cred to "$50 as overhead resistance" based upon the notion that there's some handful of retards who may have paid near $50 in 1980, and have been waiting 31 years to "get out even"... (meanwhile the nominal FRNs have collapsed in buying power). Bob Chapman even said something about this, as though after $50 she'll "be free" to go straight to the moon.

The only "overhead resistance" here are the shorts, usual suspects, and there's nothing magical about $50 that will change their wanting a lower price.

it's funny watching gold cutting new highs, $1546.40 high now, while silver gyrates around that $49 number... getting smacked now, $48.32, while gold's within a couple bucks of it's high..

chad

Oh, that's easy.

48.48

4+8=12

12.12

There are 2 twelves

12+2=14

14 and 12, what falls in between, yes, that's right 13!

So it's really double thirteens because the mason's did it.

Hidden in plain sight, too!

Exactly correct. The typical investors buying silver in 1980 were 55+ years old. These people are 86+ years old today - mostly dead or in nursing homes. And their silver hordes have since been sold off by ignorant heirs to buy Iphones, Ipads and Viagra.

The bastards are going to raise margins again - pure act of desperation and proof that they don't have the metal. Pass the word to buy the dip on Monday and drive a silver stake through their black heart.

I will admit that I am very impressed today with JPMorgan. JPMorgan managed to hold and smackdown silver despite a very strong up-move in gold. It will be very interesting to me to see how far silver will go down when trading resumes Sunday night into Monday morning. This could be the beginning of another smackdown that will be deeper than the last one. We will see.
