I realize silver has been the recent big story and has been getting all the attention but Gold now having broke 1550.00 has been strangely silent on this here GOLD - silver forum. What gives??
Did everyone cash in their Gold rockets for silver rockets? :oo-->

I still think gold is at least a thousand dollars (in today's fiat purchasing power) under its transmutation production costs, but it sure does not have the room to run till 'fiat marginal returns' territory like silver does since I don't see much of a reason that transmutations into silver from scratch cost less than gold ounce for ounce.

Wow, weird seeing Gold hypercharged while Silver is barely nudging up at all... Anyway I changed most of my silver granule into Gold a couple of weeks ago, so I am quite happy about these recent developments. However, if my memory doesn't fail me, this reminds me of 2008, Gold peaked, or held up a few weeks after silver started to plunge... I could be wrong about this, though. I'll check it out...

Actually they seem to have peaked the same day the 17th of March, but silver had a peak near it's maximum already the 6th of March...

Actually, it's the only reason why I came to GSUS today. My little Kitco ticker plug-in at the bottom of my browser had this crazy number for gold . . . and I just started blinking, thinking my eyes were reversing numbers. It says $1563 right now, as I type. Weird. Did it really go up ~ $30 in a couple of days? I don't normally care about the price unless I am buying or selling, but this seemed like a large jump to me.
So I came here to see what the word is . . . and just like you said, StreetsOfGold . . . silence.
I am guessing it's because the USDX is down? (73.01 at this moment - also displayed with the plug-in. ;D)

It's just that $1500 was so recent it's hard to believe we're now closer to $1600! Plus I admit I've been busy rooting for silver to hit $50 so I haven't been paying as close attention.

I think rumors of another margin hike for silver have some speculators spooked.

Yes or silver has had it's runup and gold is doing a comeback, with fiat currency collapsing gold is a safer bet!

Silence on an Au/Ag forum.....must be the sign of a blow-off, parabolic top.

I guess the focus as been on silver trying (and failing so far) to break $50, that a lot of people have not noticed that gold is also going up. Or perhaps, the rocket arsenal is being used only for silver now. For me personally, I have been looking more at silver than gold since I like silver more than gold.

StreetsOfGold,
I think that I might be partly to blame for no posts on the gold record high. My gut feeling prediction that I made that silver will not hit $50 in 2011 got people's attention and took almost all of the focus away from gold. ;D This is just a wild guess here.
