For the West, and specifically for the USA, financial armageddon awaits. There is absolutely no way those currently in charge at any level will turn things around now. To avoid a total financial destruction and especially and massive death blow to the middle class workforce of the West, the collective free nations of the world would need to do financially exactly what China has been and is currently doing. These countries would need to balance their books, even out their trade deficits, and import hard assets most importantly gold and silver like there's no tomorrow.

But the leadership and the powers driving "change" in the West are not interested in the health of their peoples. The path of least resistance is down and those actually driving things are more interested in their own golden parachutes than the fast approaching fall into poverty of entire nations. The West will simply continue the long term declines. Their currencies will devalue at an even faster pace and their traditional stores of wealth will evaporate.

It is only a matter of a few years now until the middle class of America evaporates too. They have not "gone off the grid" fast enough, they are as reliant on fragile sources of energy (imported) and income (public sector jobs and support) as ever, even more so. The workers have not bought silver fast enough, they hold practically no gold and they continue to pay tribute (taxes) in large amounts to a global war raging central power. While more poeple are waking up, the options for them are slowly slipping away.

Financial destruction is now assured. The most rosy expectation for the end of this decade is now an enconomy and society more in line with Asia or Eastern Europe. Some envision America returning to a purely agricultural society over the next few generations once wealth and resource has been entirely picked clean. But the topsoil and water issues aren't likely to resolve themselves enough to support a nation of 300 million people.

In the rest of the West and in emerging areas around the world, you can add war to the list of problems that financial destruction will bring. The USA is desperately attempting to position itself as the world policeman and ensure at least some income by way of war revenue but the aftermath of a financial destruction doesn't see mercenary pay as good as many might think. Over the long term, war will not bring prosperity and despite the fact that more poeple might grow to embrace it, it will not save them.

Financial destructions comes first, other destructions will certainly follow.
