I mean we had V-E and V-J days, but I don't think we ever "Celebrated" the death of anyone.

Can anyone from antiquity remember a time where people of this country were happy someone died?

When the originator of Al Queda- Iraq was killed, I think we cheered that.
Did the U.S. cheer when Yamato was assassinated ?

Who has " holidays " and laws that do just that, what you ask.

Chanukah is key hidden history on this topic as well.

Celebrating 10 years of fleecing the sheeple sacrificed.

When I came home today the main corner of my city had about 10 Milf's holding signs like "Go Navy" and "God Bless America" festooned with balloons and signs reading "OBL we got you!" - I kid you not. Of course there were about a dozen American flags and motorists were honking in approval as they passed by. Whoever spiked the punchbowl - it's working because people are so scared they're out on the streets making fools of themselves to find group love and safety. That, ladies and gentlemen, is our country now. Yes, yes there are wiley self-reliants like us out there, but look at the sorry lot we've got to work with - a football fan mentality that blindly follows the script. A couple of them had nice tits though.

At least you can see some good in it. ;D

Your point is spot on with the exception that some can't even grasp football. :o

The reason I ask is because I believe that all the hype surrounding the so called celebration is almost completely manufactured by the media. This is a new thing being piped at us in the US, "celebrating" death. Isn't that what the savages in the Mideast do? I don't recall any other time in history this has ever happened.

The "War" obviously isn't over. So why all the Joy?

Full on propaganda mode. Some of the local media had a couple stories on college students rallying for the death. Some had stories on the how do you feel about the bombing. Trivial crap the lot of it. Full on propaganda mode on national talk radio, large market talk radio, I'm guessing teevee is full on propaganda, small market radio is abuzz.

Gives the proles something to cheer about I guess.

JFK was widely hated in Texas.

i don't know if there were any public celebrations after his assassinations, but i would guess that many glasses of whiskey were raised to his demise at the Petroleum Club in Houston. sort of place where the Bush'es would go for lunch with James Baker, Farish, and their oil buddies.
