I expect that we'll be seeing this coin on sale at local garage sales for under $100 soon. :taunt: :00-->

Ximmy, it may be a long way down, but if you don't need to sell anytime soon you'll still make a good deal. I'll buy later, when it's gone down more... My problem is that I think I am smart. I may be proven wrong though. We'll see!

At the moment I'm only adding 5 ounces per dollar drop... subject to increase as they decrease... ;)

I spent all my money on PMs already. I can't buy anymore for several months so I can save up to move out of CA. Wish I had waited 1 more week to buy. I had a feeling this would happen, but I didn't know when.

I am also buying as the price drops. Every $5 drop I will double the # of ounces purchased.

My physical silver is safe and secure and not for sale. But I trade paper too and last week dumped my SIL and PSLV for a nice profit. I bought back a little PSLV on the dip and then the bottom fell out. This AM, I liquidated fully 1/3 of my portfolio of mainly GDXJ and GDX with a little PSLV and PHYS. My gut tells me that we are in a nasty downdraft for a couple of weeks. After today, I'm only down about 10% from the peak last week and up overall for this year so I am not greedy and will not complain. While I am a buy and hold investor when it comes to the PMs I feel the need to protect my capital at the present time. So now I am 66% cash and 33% CEF and will sit tight and wait for this storm to pass. When things settle down and bottom appears in sight, I will be a heavy buyer into gold, silver and the miners.
We have a confluence of four trends that I fear will knock silver down another $10:
1. a lot a scrap has come to market in responce to the recent prices
2. several miners hedged a lot of silver into these high prices
3. we are entering the summer season
4. TPTB are relentlessly shorting silver and gold to suppress them
Long term the fundamentals are intact and silver will rise like a phoenix from the ashes. But short term, silver is getting toasted! :boohoo
Good luck to all!

The coin dealers who post all these doomer articles and videos make money when the price goes up and then when the price goes down.
:D another buying opportunity...lol.

I'll add,
Nothing in the economy has changed, only manipulative appearances.
gooberment must raise debt ceiling
inflation is inflating
housing is in a bubble
unemployment is super high
three wars
except for military, there is no major manufacturing in this land of consumers
I see no reason to hold paper... ;) give me coin please ;D

I started storage prepping about 3 months ago... but I found that buying prep materials was WAY cheaper than I thought, (I'm overloaded with storage food, paper products, etc... I bought too much beef jerky). It's a learning process... but now that silver is dropping I have some extra dollars to dispose of... ;D
Thinking of buying some solar panels though... ???

I think this will be one of my next major prep purchases..
Ximmy, where did you get that coin in the first post? It's beautiful, I think I'd like those to be my next silver purchase. Like others have said, my physical is safe and not for sale. I'd like to buy in the dip that's happening this summer.

This is all just a paper washout, partly blamed to margin hikes. I don't think anyone is selling physical, but I know the wise ones are backing the truck up. Thanks for the link, Ximmy.

Thanks Ximmy! I didn't even know that thread existed...I can't wait to see this coin now. I enjoy the excitement of making a PM purchase. I hope I don't get another PM addiction going though. :) But, it's a good possibility. I'm glad to see prices go down to working man levels, and look forward to a summer of PM buying opportunities. Life is great. ;)

Now back to more pressing matters... I see it dipped under 33 this morning. I missed buying at that point. Libertad rolls seem to be about the best deal around, if you haven't added some to your collection.
Can't recommend the current ATB coin any longer, the quality is poor for a collectible.

I bought this 1996 SAE today from a local coin dealer for $38 (spot silver ended up closing at $34.62). This is the lowest premium that I have seen for a 1996 SAE. It is "scruffy" on the reverse side but that is fine with me.
I also bought a silver art bar today for $36.74 but I will post that on my Silver Art Bar Porn thread in a few minutes.

You did very well my son. The premia over spot for SAEs are averaging 30% on Ebay. Even silver bars are bidding at 25% over the paper price:

You know, the last time I aquired physical was the last round of GIM coins that went out. I haven't bought any since, until last week.
Even though the spot is higher and with premiums being increased, I feel so much better knowing that a package is in the mail with silver rounds in it, and it's on the way to my house.
