View Full Version : More for wives than mothers on Mother's Day?

Why do women expect presents and special attention from their husbands on mothers day? Shouldn’t all that come from the kids?
Shouldn't husbands be doting on their “mother” on Mother’s Day hence the name of the holiday?
Please don’t wade in with the “she is raising your kids” horse crap. From what I see, husbands do just as much child rearing as the wives and many cases much more.

My family does not participate in Mothers day, or any other contrived make believe holiday.

I treat my woman like a Goddess everyday of her life. I show appreciation for her kindness and affection everyday of her life. I make her feel all of the things a woman needs from her man, everyday of her life.

Life is incredibly short. DO NOT wait until predetermined days to show your appreciation for someone in your life. Show them how much they mean to you EVERYDAY OF THIER LIFE.

PEACE,

Equality*.

*The new definition of equality: anything that helps women at the expense of men.

PEACE,

It’s interesting you never mention your mother once.

That's because you were asking about wives.

This mother's day I'm buying my mom a copy of The Return of the Antichrist and the NWO (http://www.amazon.com/Return-Antichrist-New-World-Order/dp/1935507486/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297354096&sr=8-1) by Patrick Heron. It's a great book, I'd recommend it to moms everywhere.

I bought my wife new perfume, Chanel Chance, its her first Mothers Day as our child was born last september and obviosuly isn't able to do much for it.

I bought my mom new perfume as well, Calvin Klein Euphoria.

At the end of the day its only FRNs, can't take them with you when you die, and cultivating love and appreciation with your family (mother, wife, etc) has dividends that pay off for YEARS. Totally worth it...

I completely agree. I'm not a fan of these holidays. I went to my son's kindergarten this morning and all the kids gave the moms small hand-made flower pots painted by the kids and cards they made on their own and they were told to write whatever they wanted. My son wrote " My mom is happy. I love my mom because she loves me." SO sweet. Now I do not need anything from my husband and I told him to please not buy me anything.

I am feeling some guilt because I didn't send my mom a card though. I will have to be sure to call her.

I'm losing my mind. People are all about food. Fake food at that.

i don't like it because it's more Madison Avenue bullshit - it's just something to make American fathers & husbands feel guilty if ... they don't spend money.

but, if it makes people call their Mom, i suppose it's a good thing.
