My understanding is that they are one and the same, however each have different means to achieving the end result. Both are for the elimination of private property and the attainment of equal prosperity. The key difference is that Communism is enslavement of the population by force, whereas Socialism is enslavement by vote. Murder or Suicide.

My definition of communism, along with all other collectivist political philosophies such as fascism, socialism, etc. is simple: Collectivist systems place the welfare of the STATE above that of the INDIVIDUAL. The concept being "the good of the many outweighs the good of the few".

You are correct in your statements AFAIC, however revolution will only be a positive thing if it serves to restore the Republic to it's true and unrestricted form.
