I just picked up a 1979 Ford E350 Qudadravan by Pathfinder. Been looking for one of these for a long time. Man it is such a great feeling to have a "Pre-DEQ" vehicle. It's got a Warmed Over 460 in it, kind of rough on the outside but a good solid rig.

Anyone else have or love 4x4 Vans?

Sounds like fun. Had a 2wd 72 ford van for a short time. That 460 is going to be painful at the gas pump though.

I like them but I went with a 109A3.

Awesome! How many miles? Also, how hard are parts to find and are they expensive?

My plan is a bike, with a kid carrier trailer loaded with stuff as well as saddle bags for the bike. I dont have the time nor money to buy and maintain another car. Hope I dont need to go too far!

it has about 150k Miles but the engine and tranny were rebuilt about 30k ago. Most parts are easy to come buy the Ford Econoline was pretty much the same from 75 to 91.

E350 means real stiff suspension. Don't know about the vans but the F350 pickups beat themselves to death and get stress cracks thruout the cab and bed. I would have liked a 1/2 ton 4x4 van. The 460 engine is a small block on steroids, not a workhorse, IMO. If any shortcuts were taken on the overhaul you'll find out soon. Power steering on older Ford trucks is poorly designed. Other than that it might be OK. Everyone I've ever known who had a Ford van of those years loved them and put a lot of miles on them.

It rides really smooth actually. Smoother than my Half ton 4x4 suburban. I've heard lots of people say that about their Quadravans and after I took a ride I was a Impressed.
