Coffee Joulies
For the past two years I have been using a baby's silver ball to do the same thing.....it just occurred to me, how about a 10 oz silver bar?, the bar would absorb the head and then put it out slowly like the "Coffee Joulies".
==================================================

Coffee Joulies are stainless steel beans, about the size of an egg, that you put in your coffee. They instantly cool it down to a drinkable temperature and then keep it warm for up to five hours. They were invented by two 20-something mechanical engineers who were childhood friends. They launched their idea on grassroots-fundraising website Kickstarter.com, with the goal of raising $9,500. The product was so successful that they made over $300,000 and are now rushing into production to meet demand for the 10,000 sets ordered by investors from Kickstarter. They'll be available later this summer for the rest of us. One of the coolest things about the product is that the factory where they're being manufactured is a former Oneida silverware factory, which Oneida had shuttered. The Coffee Joulies inventors are revving it back up, creating American jobs, and producing Joulies full time. ($50 for a set of 5)

Go for it anyway Ponce, the elites aren't going to use common folks stainless steel, they are going to want silver to go along with the silver spoon theme.

Well, right after posting this thread I filled my coffee mug with hot water and then dropped a 10 oz bar of silver.....I did heat up the silver bar first......its been now an hour and the water is still hot, but you can put your finger in it................I now have to get something to measure the exact temperature every 10 minutes, will report on it later on.

Get yourself a 10 oz bar and heat it up and use it in your coffee container and see for yourself.

It has been way over two hours and the water is not even warm but lukewarm.....the other cup was cold after twenty minutes......so........it works ;D

Metal is a poor choice in this application as it has a very low heat capacity. It would make more sense to use pebbles/stones as they would cool the water and store far more heat than stainless steel. For that matter, just use a thick and heavy porcelain mugg - it will accomplish the same thing. The ideal would be a porcelain mugg whose interior lining is covered with a thick coating of silver, to act an as impedance matching device - heat shunt.
