Just wondering how many musicians are here? any Pro or semi Pro players here?

I played guitar in Bar Bands and small clubs for about 10 years but got sick of they typical band politics and druggies and now just jam at home to my CD's

Former semi-pro bar/lounge/studio player here. Now I just host fight night parties to jam and bbq with friends.

been pickin' guitar for 36 years now, off and on...i have played on stage, but mostly sit-ins and stuff

spent a number of years as a house sound tech, and spent some time touring with a band, but tired of that dynamic fairly quickly.

now, like hillbilly, i usually just play along w/my cd's @home.

i do jam with a good friend from time to time, and am thinking of putting together a Tool tribute band, but who knows when...

till then, i'm just a guy who likes to play. ;D

Pickin and grinnin for 28 years here. Did all the bands and gigging when I was young, then got corporate and just did some recording projects. Still kinda just doing that. I still play with the same guys I played with when I was 16 but we all live across the country, so it's Protools sessions that we ship back and forth. Trying to setup a fast enough skype that we can all sort of be in the same room to write songs, then record our parts on our home systems, and send it back for mastering. Music is a nice hobby and I am glad that I also sought a career, as my friends that stayed "pro" musicians, didn't make it (yet).

I am mostly guitar, bass, some mandolin. I have some piano, violin but not enough to be dangerous. When I was a kid it was clarinet and sax, then I got the guitar bug. I probably could play a little sax, but I don't have one.

edit to add - suffer from Guitar Acquisition Syndrome GAS

Played the Guitar & Bass, and dabbled on Drums back in the day. Was in a Cover band back in the mid 80's. Played a few gigs, mostly E.M clubs in Germany while in the army. We eventually gave it up when we couldn't really find the time to practice due to being in the field so much.

Now I just pick up my sons ax every once in a while just to keep the digits limber. ;D

Play Bass/Guitar. Was in a band for a cpol years, we cut a EP/6 song CD (mostly for Demo and Press Kit purposes), then the Piano player and drummer got into it, Drummer quit, moved to TX, been in the basement at home since. You can Google "The Pala Solution" to listen to it, there are still some MP3 on line. When we put our CD on CD Baby somehow it popped up all over the place and we have never got a cut (it's not a hit CD or anything, but where my $0.45 check! ;D). Pala is an island in Aldous Huxley's book "Island" w/ nothing but sex, drugs and debauchery.

In his last major work, the Island, the evils that Aldous Huxley has been warning us about in his earlier works - over-population, coercive politics, militarism, mechanization, the destruction of the environment and the worship of science will find their opposites in the gentle and doomed Utopia of Pala

I play the bagpipes believe it or not. Started a band and now teach others. Very emotional instrument for some reason. We make people cry all the time:).

So cool! Lots of Musicians on here. I wonder how a Gold-Silver All-Star Jam session would sound? Pretty neat I bet.
