That's why I've been buying Japanese lenses. Prices are climbing up like crazy. Some of my lenses added $200-$300 in cost in just one month.

Think about it ....

* Lenses keep their re-sell value very well ( obviously not as well as gold though).

* Lenses are easier to sell than gold.

* Lenses are pieces of glass. Glass does not rot or rust.

* Unlike gold glass can make you some money. ( think wedding photography )

* Unlike gold glass can allow you to have some outdoor fun, like wild-life, birding or landscape photograpy

So, f you dreamed about nice SLR camera with a nice set of lenses, and looking where to park your paper FRN, ... look at Nikon/Canon product. Perhaps it is a good time to reward yourself with nice set of toys like I did. ;D
