that is a salmon Faverolle rooster. one of my neighbors has some 6 week old adolescent birds that he is selling. that pic is of a full-grown bird.
i have 3 Rhode Island Red hens. they i'm sure will be prolific egg layers, 2 of them anyway. one of the hens is under-size but she's still a good pet. she is the best flyer.
i have been giving them swimming lessons. the little one is the most accomplished at water take-offs. she can take off faster than a duck.
what i hear about the Faverolle roosters is that the lower leg feathers can get dirty if their cage is dirty.
anyway, that is a pretty bird. wouldn't be surprised if i get one.
