View Full Version : Congressman Warns: “Those Who Can, Should Move Their Families Out Of the City”

There are a whole host of events that can bring the world as we know it today to its knees. From a hyperinflationary economic collapse to an electromagnetic pulse originating from the sun or a nuclear weapon , there exists a real and present danger that our system may, in the near future, experience unrecoverable shocks to the power grid and clean water infrastructure, a halt to just-in-time agricultural transportation systems and a collapse of the currency exchange mechanisms that make the economy function.

US Representative Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), lived through the great depression, so he’s seen how bad things can get. In a new documentary, Mr. Bartlett and others discuss the dangers posed to those living in cities and ways that your family can survive if the worst were to ever happen.

Roscoe Bartlett:
We could have events in the future where the power grid will go down and it’s not, in any reasonable time, coming back up. For instance, if when the power grid went down some of our large transformers were destroyed, damaged beyond use, we don’t make any of those in this country. They’re made overseas and you order one and 18 months to two years later they will deliver it. Our power grid is very vulnerable. It’s very much on edge. Our military knows that.

There are a number of events that could create a situation in the cities where civil unrest would be a very high probability. And, I think that those who can, and those who understand, need to take advantage of the opportunity when these winds of strife are not blowing to move their families out of the city.

We realize that for most people this may be decried as fear-mongering and crazy survival talk. We can’t help but point out, however, that it’s not just Representative Roscoe Bartlett, economist Marc Faber, and trend forecaster Gerald Celente that are recommending you prepare and head for rural areas. The US Pentagon and Military are very much aware of these possibilities and they’re preparing for exactly the scenarios described in this documentary.

The threat is out there, and just because it hasn’t happened in our modern-day society up until now doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. In fact, it has happened through history – strife, poverty, depression, economic collapse, war. You name it and somebody in history has lived it. The government spends hundreds of billions of dollars on emergency preparedness, disaster planning, continuity of government and war gaming these scenarios. There’s a reason for that. We recommend our readers take a queue from them and others who are warning of these outlier possibilities.

large transformers are not that hard to make. there's some of the infrastructure for it at places like Litton Electron Devices (in San Carlos, in the SF Bay Area) and at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (they make huge electromagnets, they have lots of experience with optimal core materials like high-nickel content steels). in Litton's case they would have to resurrect an old capability; in SLAC's case they would have to put aside some experimental physics.

Got myself another 1,200 W 2 strokes generator so that now I have 3 of the little babies, one gallon eight hours and is all that I need........I mean, when the sun is not shinning and I have no solar power.

A light in the dark can be seen from a long way off especially when no other lights are burning.

I've decided it's better to blend in rather than have the zombie hordes decide to share my wealth.

I see where Sams has a 4kw generator for around $285 now. Seems like a good deal. I expect that would be two stroke.

i would like to get a diesel generator.

then i realize that, if i can set something up that runs off the rear wheels of my old diesel Mercedes, i can use that as a generator.

Yes or maybe you can take the electricity from the generator in the engine?

the problem with the power grid is that the majority of it is a "hot start system" you just can't flip the breaker on the Grand Coulie Dam and it works it takes electricity to close those breakers. The big plants are all like that.

The military is not prepaired for an EMP they started gettting rid of their hardend equipment in the mid 90's and it is almost entirely gone. Hell the MTV the new (Deuce and a half) if it's battery goes dead the tires go flat and it cant even be towed because the transmission won't unlock not to mention all the computers that control everything on the truck.

and that is just a truck imagine all the planes trains and cars. the military would be on foot and horseback this is no bullshit. I am still floored then they removed all the hardened electronics from my work and put in dell laptops.

This is why I dropped $1200 at the government liquidators to have an old school Deuce. they burn anything from motor oil to rubbing alcohol and need zero electricity to run.

EMP= Totaly Fu#$ed and they are so easy to do. While the elites hide in their arc's and wait, while we all experience the Mad Max first hand for several years.

They'll be out there, I'm sure. driving very slow & listening for running generators.

I thought we still make transformers in the U.S.?

I used to worked at a place in NJ that wound some pretty big ones and also had small ones, and they're still there?

Electricity is over rated and people can happily live with out it.
The dependance on the massive grid ,break downs will spur people on to have their independant power source.

Yeah, buy some Chinese junk which you cannot get spare parts for in the future - that's a great idea.

My water heater just failed and it will be some time before I got the FRNS to replace it

Im adjusting quite well to cold showers and the occasional small pot of boiling water to raise it to luke warm temperatures.

Its amazing how quickly I reverted.

Zap that's a lot of generators, lol +1 on the hondas.

Do you use these as a primary source of power?
How many hours run time do you get out of your smaller versions?
I have a 9hp subaru (sp) ohv 5500 watt continuous output and wonder rough time to overhaul.

Do all the families featured in this video live in Montana? I couldn't figure out where they were all located, but that's what I seemed to get from watching it.

Good luck finding a American diesel generator even the military "Wisconsin" generators it's powered by a Yanmar diesel engine.

Wish I had a buck for every Wisconsin engine I rebuilt while I was in the USAF , used them on compressors , light carts, small gen sets. portable heaters, and small a/c units all trailer mounted and painted bright yellow stateside and green overseas. Good engines but this was in the early 70's , have not a clue what they are doing now.

Edit: Forgot my most hated piece of equipment in A.G.E "Bomb lifts" mj-1 and mj-2's, working on the hydraulics on those bitches was a nightmare. Hell, they were a nightmare in general to work on. They used Wisconsin's.

It is a mistake to use foreign equipment / made over sea's but what do I know. ??? (For our military use)

Civilian use is another thing if you can find parts for the equipment, best bang for the buck.

They use Yanmar for everythng now. They retrofitted all the older stuff.

"Getting off the grid" is a matter of degrees. I'm not sure if a bunch of generators and a bug out location will work or not. Certainly there are scenarios where they do but it could come down to Alaska or something like that too.

The point of the thread still is that some former insider thinks the S might HTF. But to me it looks like having that happen in the near future is doubtful. I'm expecting more of the same, continued losses for the middle class.

Actually, Congressman Bartlett is still an insider. He is still serving in congress and is on the congressional pannel that looked into this.

He is one of the very few that are worth a damn. And I am not even anywhere near MD but haave heard of him long before he made that movie.

I wish I could share your optimism, Greece teetering on the brink of collapse. The government wanting to bailout the banks, the people saying "fuck no" not to mention Spain sliding, Germany saying they don't want to play ball with bailing out insolvent nations like Greece anymore. Finland taking their ball and going home. The middle east turmoil, China telling the U.S. to back off Pakistan. We've got the recipe for a systemic collapse.

I think we have the perfect situation for a scarry mooslem to crank off a few emp's and send the useless eaters back the the stone age for a few years then the eliete will emerge with a new plan and a unified country because "all the individulism is what caused the crisis of the last few years. Join together with your fellow man on the farm in joyus labor and we shall not go hungry." (Insert global totaliarism here)

Get a 12 quart stock pot at walmart. Warm some water on the stove (or camp stove) and use a cup to dip and pour while standing in the shower. 12 quarts is enough to shampoo unless you have long hair.

Actually the bathtub was a big mistake. Even 200 years before running water you could heat a 12 quart stock pot and clean yourself completely and quickly without washing your face and a$$ in the same water. Imagine heating 40 gallons of water to fill a bathtub in 1763, then soaking for 20 minutes with a floating layer of reconstituted dingleballs when all you needed is 3 gallons of warm water to get much cleaner.

I watched about 1/3 of the movie before realizing I watched the movie probably 2 years ago. Not sure what's new about it other than it is still good advice. The whacky single lady with the two stepford kids was when it was clear to me that I have been here before. Those are some seriously creepy girls.
