Louis Theroux the acclaimed British reporter follows the “Westboro Baptist Church” or The Most Hated Family in America. This church takes evangelicalism to a new extreme. Known for the infamous “God Hates Fags” signs and protests. The family is also known for going to US soldiers funerals and celebrating. This documentary is a disturbing look at Christian extremism.

Westboro Baptist Church Plans Protest for Joplin MO

Joplin, MO) -- The controversial Westboro Baptist Church is planning to protest President Obama's visit to Joplin, Missouri Sunday.


On its website, the church writes, "Thank God for 125 dead in Joplin."


Church members claim Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has attacked them by promoting laws banning them from protesting at soldiers' funerals.


President Obama is planning to visit the tornado-raved city this Sunday. A memorial is also planned that day for the 125 people who lost their lives in the tornado.


Nixon said Wednesday that the community "must come together and seek a higher power's assistance."


He said it was appropriate the community gather as one on Memorial Day weekend to remember those who have died in the tornado.


The Westboro Baptist Church believes tragedies like the tornado are God's punishment on Americans for accepting homosexuality.

What they are trying to do is justify the passage saying "thou shalt be hated for my namesake", they even said it on tv before. What these idiots do'nt seem to realize is that THEY are stirring the pot of crap and therefore getting themselves hated for their own namesakes because they go out seeking hatred.

to me the Phelps are just sort of wierd ... i don't care too much about their sidewalk antics.

i think if they get blown away by some soldier's family, the Phelps shouldn't expect much sympathy from the jury that gets the case. 5 years max for the Phelps-vote-canceller if that happens.

but i agree about the shysters ... until we know the family's name, we can call them "Shyster X".

i think Benjamin Emanuel's family - Rahm, Ari (major Israel-wood power player), Ezekiel (major force behind Obama-care) comes very close.

got to put the Bush's up they're too. they think they're special, "God's chosen people", even if they aren't openly Jewish.
